Safety Guidelines
Urb Ryde E-Scooter wants all of our customers to have a safe, fun ride. In addition to the tips we’ve highlighted below, we’ve also complied a detailed safety guide.
Important safety reminders:
Never take your hands off the handle bars. Keeping your hands on the handle bars helps to ensure that you’re properly balanced and positioned on the E-Scooter.
Keep your finger away from the accelerator knob while the E-Scooter is on, unless you are actively riding it. If you touch the accelerator, or pull on it accidentally, the E-Scooter will take off, jumping forward by itself. This can cause serious injury to you or anyone around the scooter as well as property damage. To prevent this we recommend keeping the scooter OFF when not in use and keep it away from children.
There is a risk of falling while on an E-Scooter. By using a Urb Ryde E-Scooter, you assume all risks and take responsibility for your own safety. Urb Ryde E-scooter is not responsible for injury, property damage or accidental death arising from use of our products.
Staying Safe
We’ve pulled together the following safety guidelines, so you can enjoy your Urb Ryde E-Scooter safely:
Before you start, review the user manual for your scooter and familiarize yourself with the operating instructions so that you can operate your unit safely and keep it in the best condition.
Wear protective safety gear. We recommend always wearing a helmet and wrist guards but you may also want to year knee pads, elbow pads, and other appropriate safety gear.
Always wear closed-toe shoes while riding your E-Scooter.
Only ride your E-Scooter where permitted. You may not be allowed to ride it on sidewalks and streets. Check your local laws first.
Make sure to start in mode number 1 to familiarize yourself with the throttle response.
Practice in an open area such as an empty parking lot or empty space.

Practice maneuvering in all directions, get comfortable with your scooter.
Be sure you have a friend to help you practice balancing if you are not experienced with balancing on your own. Again, start in mode 1 until you get good at handling the product.
Relax your legs while riding, bend your knees slightly. This helps maintain balance when you encounter uneven ground.
Place your weight on the rear of the deck, not the front. This prevents any chances of you propelling forward and going over the front handlebar and landing on your face in emergency braking with your front brakes.
Begin riding by having one foot on the E-Scooter and pushing off with the other foot. Once the scooter is rolling forward, place the other foot on the E-Scooter, balance, and then accelerate. *Warning* Using the accelerator from a stopped position can cause you to lose control and fall, or have a run away scooter. This can cause serious injury to you and others, as well as property damage.
Make sure your feet are always on your unit. Taking your feet off the E-Scooter while riding may be dangerous.

Use your Urb Ryde E-Scooter product only if you are healthy and are able to balance.
The elderly or pregnant women should not ride an E-Scooter.
Avoid riding over obstacles and slippery or wet ground such as snow, ice, and wet surfaces.
Avoid riding in narrow spaces.
When riding, comply with local laws and give way to pedestrians at all times.
Be aware of your surroundings to ensure a safe ride.
Only one person should ride on the E-Scooter at a time.
The weight of the user and their belongings should not exceed the maximum load indicated in your user manual, otherwise you may fall and be injured, or damage your scooter. Exceeding the weight capacity of the unit may result in difficulty controlling the unit and injuries to the rider. This is especially true when riding downhill, as the scooter may reach unsafe speeds.
Do not press the accelerator while going downhill, keep your hands on the brakes to maintain a safe speed and stay in control.
Ensure the vehicle speed is safe to yourself and others and be ready to stop at any time.
If you are riding your E-Scooter near others, please keep a safe distance from each other to avoid collisions.
When steering, pay attention to your body’s center of gravity. A sudden shift may cause you to fall.

We offer a variety of accessories to keep you safe, including helmets, high-visibility vests, and LED belts.
